Model Highlights
Exterior Design
The exterior of the 2026 Expedition features a commanding presence, characterized by a bold front grille and signature LED lighting. The redesign has introduced a more streamlined look without sacrificing its rugged roots. Available in both standard and the extended MAX lengths, the silhouette is functional yet refined. Notable exterior updates include the available Ford Split Gate, which features a power upper liftgate and a power lower tailgate that can serve as a bench for outdoor gatherings. For those seeking a more adventurous aesthetic, the Tremor trim offers increased ground clearance, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and underbody skid plates.
Interior Refinement
Inside, the cabin is designed to function as a mobile command center for families. The focal point is the Ford Digital Experience, which utilizes a 24-inch panoramic display alongside a 13.2-inch center touchscreen. This setup provides intuitive access to navigation and media while keeping critical information in the driver’s line of sight.
The seating configuration is highly flexible, accommodating up to eight passengers. High-tier trims offer premium materials such as Del Rio leather and multicontour seats with massage functionality. For those requiring versatile cargo solutions, the Flex Powered Console can slide back to provide easier access for second-row passengers or forward to maximize front-row storage. With the rear seats folded, the interior provides a flat load floor capable of transporting large items with ease.
Performance and Capability
Under the hood, the Expedition is powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The standard configuration produces 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. For enhanced requirements, a High-Output version is available on specific trims, increasing performance to 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque.
The mechanical foundation is built for heavy-duty tasks, offering a maximum towing capacity of up to 9,600 pounds when properly equipped with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package. Intelligent 4WD with a Terrain Management System is available, providing selectable drive modes to maintain traction through Wisconsin’s snowy winters or muddy spring thaws.
Safety Technology
Safety is prioritized through the Ford Co-Pilot360® suite. This collection of driver-assist technologies includes:
- Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking.
- Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with Cross-Traffic Alert.
- Lane-Keeping System to help maintain proper positioning on the highway.
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go functionality.
Furthermore, the 2026 model offers BlueCruise, allowing for hands-free highway driving on compatible North American roads. This system uses a driver-facing camera to ensure the operator remains attentive while the vehicle manages steering, braking, and acceleration.
